Kapiti Food Fair is ready to serve-up a fun foodie day out

On Saturday the 1st of December, bring the whole family down to the Mazengarb Reserve for a fun foodie day out.  Kicking off from 10am through to 4pm, the annual Kapiti Food Fair is expecting more than 15,000 hungry visitors to browse, buy and tuck-in to delicious treats from 200+ vendors.  Fair goers can also expect to see Celebrity Chef Brett McGregor in action, have a few brews, a wine, a cider or even a Koakoa Limoncello Cocktail in the Tuatara Bar.  Kids are welcome in the Bar with a parent or guardian.

Entry up to 18 free and $8/adult or $12/adult with canvas shopping bag (cash at gate only).

Bring a sunhat, slap on some sunscreen & bring a picnic blanket.

Three stages with Beach FM, the ZEAL Busking Zone, and the Coastella Tiny Town Studio are all set to get your groove on while the kids will be rocking at the three kids’ zones with Bouncy Monkeys & JUMP, Adrenalin Laser and Colossal Circus.  “The continued growth of the fair confirms our belief we are anchored as a major and sustainable Kapiti event,” Co-owner of the Kapiti Food Fair Helene Judge says. “Previous fairs have attracted a vast range of artisan and commercial products, and this year will be no exception.”

If you’re without a set of wheels, there’s no need to despair: catch the train!  The Fair will be running a free Kapiti Kruzer bus service from Paraparaumu Station to the Reserve – departing at 10.08am, 11.08am, 12.08pm, 1.08pm, 2.08pm, 3.08pm.  Kapiti Kruzer will return to the station at 10.38am, 11.38am, 12.38pm, 1.38pm, 2.38pm, 3.38pm.  Once at the Fair, we will take care of everything and the cheerful crew at the Hits Info Hub will be help with all Visitor enquiries.  St John will be on-site for any emergency.

“We sincerely hope our extensive regional marketing approach is acted upon by thousands so our philosophy of filling your life with good friends, good times, and good food can be enjoyed by everyone,” says Helene.

Fellow Co-owner, Jeanine van Kradenburg says, “Brett McGregor needs little introduction – he describes himself as a Masterchef, Author, Teacher and a Food & Wine Ambassador.  In 2010 he was declared New Zealand’s first Masterchef – this was the catalyst for him to follow his bliss.”

He says, the development of his culinary skills can only be attributed to one person, his mother!  While his mum’s influence helped Brett learn important skills, it was through his mum and dad’s travels that he was first introduced to new flavours from all over the world.  His cooking style is tasty, fresh, seasonal and easily achievable.  Brett says, "food doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious."
