Kāpiti Run for Youth activates 2026 fun run or walk for rangatahi fundraising
Kāpiti Coast, Wellington, New Zealand Monday February 9th, 2026: The Web Genius Kāpiti Run for Youth is an annual fundraising event that will take place on Sunday 29th March 2026. In 2025 we raised $25,531. We can’t wait to get back out on the beach to complete this event altogether once again.
“We have been raising funds for rangatahi in Kāpiti since 2011, and in that time, we have raised $280,003. In 2025 we set up a new fundraising website on the Raisley platform as it offered top-notch tech for charities to create diverse and professional fundraising campaigns,” says Richard Calkin, the Founder of Web Genius. “We were delighted with the ease of using that platform, so the team are primed for the 2026 campaign with the mindset to tip total fundraising over $300k since the beginning.”

Kāpiti Run for Youth is a lively, family-friendly event focused on fostering community spirit and supporting organisations that encourage and uplift local young people. We are open for registration, and the business sponsorship campaign has launched, which Steve Jandrell, CEO at Web Genius is excited about. “We initially launched this event as a way for a local business to ‘give back’ to the community. We are proud that more than a decade on, the event has proven to be a sustainable, well-loved community tradition. It attracts participants from all walks of life, who come together each year to support youth while enjoying the inclusive, welcoming atmosphere,” says Steve.
He goes on to say, “there’s no entry fee to participate as we use a sponsorship model and encourage everyone participating to raise $20 or more. We keep entrants motivated along the way as they prepare for the event, and the new platform makes it easy to share your profile to seek sponsorship for your efforts.”
There are 11 incredible fundraising partners to choose from to support. We are super proud of our partners and the work they do to uplift the youth of Kāpiti. Each partner brings something unique to the table, from providing essential resources and mentoring to creating spaces where young people can thrive. The Campaign Manager, Helene Judge, has worked closely with fundraising partners and the Web Genius team to activate the 2026 event. She says, “our fundraising partners are all amazing as they create a brighter tomorrow for our young people. Fundraising Partners for 2026 include Birthright Kāpiti, Kāpiti College, Kāpiti Impact Trust, Kāpiti Kindness Trust, Kāpiti Youth Support, No 49 Squadron Air Cadets Kāpiti, Ōtaki College, Paraparaumu College, The Shed Project Kāpiti, Work Ready Kāpiti and ZEAL Kāpiti.”
Our fundraising model is focused on returning as much money as we can on an annual basis. All funds raised are split 70-30, meaning, 70% is paid to the Fundraising Partner chosen by the participant at the time of registration and 30% is retained to go towards the costs of running the event.
